Western Sky Balloon Festival Returns to Delta with Drones, Fireworks, and Family Fun
Delta, CO — The City of Delta is preparing to host the third annual Western Sky Balloon Festival, a free, family-friendly celebration taking place July 3–6 as part of the city’s 4th of July festivities. This year’s event will feature a mix of traditional favorites and exciting new attractions, including a choreographed drone light show!
Held at Confluence Park, the festival draws thousands of visitors each year for its colorful hot air balloon launches, entertainment, food vendors, and community-centered activities. Organizers expect around 20 balloons to participate in the festival with early morning ascensions and the popular evening balloon glows, all weather permitting.
The schedule includes a wide range of events such as:
-
Tethered balloon rides
-
Paddleboarding, disc golf, and climbing wall
-
Kids’ zone with inflatables and face painting
-
Movie night at the Tru Vu Drive-In
-
Craft fair, beer garden, and food trucks
As always, the festival will be highlighted by one of the best fireworks shows on the Western Slope - presented by the Delta Volunteer Fire Department at 9:45 p.m on July 4th.
New in 2025, a Drone Show by Hire UAV Pro will light up the sky at 9:30 p.m. on July 5. This event continues to grow every year, and we’re excited to introduce the drone show as a fresh experience for attendees.
The Western Sky Balloon Festival remains entirely free to attend, with activities scheduled from early morning into the evening. Visitors are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, and plenty of sunscreen.
